The Probity Institute exists to make governance-token rights executable and machine-readable. Public equity
markets are efficient because a share is a bundle of enforceable claims — holders can replace management, approve
or block mergers, tender into bids, and exit at fair value. Governance tokens carry almost none of that bundle:
control is negotiated privately with foundations, spending is discretionary, and exits are rarely contractual.
The Institute's work is to name the missing rights, audit which tokens actually implement them in code, and
publish the results in a form that capital allocators, risk engines, and autonomous agents can verify and act on.
Markets with executable rights consolidate and clear; markets without them fragment. We build the standards that
let this market clear.
Positioning
Standards body, not a vendor.
The Institute is a non-commercial monitoring and standards organization. It defines the GSA standards, audits against them, and publishes results.
Executable before expressive.
Every determination measures what a token holder can execute — control, recall, distribution, exit — at what cost. Narrative rights are not scored.
Facts before judgment.
News coverage reports proposals, votes, and treasury moves as recorded. No ratings commentary, no implied scores, no speculation about motive.
Machine-readable by construction.
Published determinations are structured, hash-committed, and recorded as on-chain attestations — verifiable by a program in one call, without trusting this site.
