The daily governance brief for DAO tokenholders
Probity Institute
About the Institute
Mission
The Probity Institute exists to make decentralized governance legible. Most governance tokens carry little
enforceable control over the protocols they purport to govern; real power often sits with multisig keys, foundations,
and operator discretion rather than in code. The Institute's work is to measure, standardize, and report on that gap —
which rights token holders actually hold, expressed in code — so that participants can reason about governance from
facts rather than from marketing.
Positioning
Standards body, not a vendor.
The Institute is a non-commercial monitoring and standards organization. It defines the GSA standards, audits against them, and publishes results.
Facts before judgment.
News coverage reports proposals, votes, and treasury moves as recorded. No ratings commentary, no implied scores, no speculation about motive.
Methodology before scores.
No GSA determinations are published until the scoring methodology is frozen and documented in the public revision log.
On-chain verification.
Published determinations are recorded as verifiable on-chain attestations and mirrored on this site.
